About this blog

Hello! Welcome to Life in Maple Land.
I’m a Japanese woman in my thirties, living in Montreal, Quebec, with my Algerian-Canadian husband and our 9-month-old baby.

During my university years, I spent two months studying English in the Philippines, one year on a working holiday in Australia, two months backpacking solo through Southeast Asia, and two months working on a goat farm on Vancouver Island through WWOOF. Four years ago, I left my job at an international manufacturing company and moved to Canada.

Through this blog, I aim to share my experiences and useful information about life in Canada. I cover various topics including living in Canada, studying abroad, working overseas, and international marriage.

Why I Started This Blog

Living in Canada comes with its own set of challenges and adventures that are unique to living abroad. Additionally, living with a partner from a different culture has taught me many valuable lessons. I started this blog to share these experiences.

I hope my stories provide valuable insights and inspiration for those considering moving to Canada, already living here, interested in Canadian life, or curious about international marriage.
